Theatre Arts from University Of Pennsylvania is a Campus Bachelor Visual Arts degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. Currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of its first graduating major, the Theatre Arts Program at Penn offers all students a unique opportunity to study theatre in the classroom and in the production process under the guidance of faculty members who have extensive experience and training in theatre as actors, directors, scholars, and teachers. Structured as a comprehensive liberal arts curriculum, the Program offers a full range of courses in all areas of theatre study, including acting and directing, theatre history, dramatic literature, performance theory, design, playwriting, dramaturgy, and many others. Students may also receive academic credit for participating in production work as actors or members of the production team. Guest artist-teachers give students the chance to explore new experimental forms of theatre. Students are also afforded opportunities to receive credit for course work conducted outside the campus through such programs as Study Abroad and Penn Summer-in-London.
