The program was designed to allow individuals with bachelor's degrees in something other than education the opportunity to pursue a teaching licensure and a master's degree concurrently. In June candidates take six hours on-line. All candidates will come to campus for a two week training in July. We arrange for inexpensive housing during that time for candidates that have to travel for a long distance. During the fall and spring, candidates take nine hours each semester and are required to come to campus three Saturdays in the fall and three Saturdays in the spring for face-to-face instruction everything else is online. At this time, the program allows candidates to seek licensure in P-4 Early Childhood, Middle Childhood grades 4-8 and Secondary grades 7-12. To be admitted to the program candidates must have a 2.70 GPA overall or a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of their degree . All candidates must take and pass the Praxis I Reading, Writing, and Math and the Praxis II Specialty exam in their content area to be admitted to the program.
