Students will learn: Anatomy, chemistry, and biology Nutrition science Nutrition issues that people face at different stages of the lifecycle The role race, ethnicity, and culture play in nutrition Nutrition as it relates to various health and disease states Communication skills Therapeutic nutrition Foodservice systems management The University of Alaska Didactic Program in Dietetics is currently granted candidacy for accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago IL 60606-6995, 312 899-0040 ext 5400. Students enrolled in this program will be eligible to complete a CADE accredited Dietetic Internship. The Dietetics degree is designed as a State-wide program. The general education and pre-requisite courses can be taken at UA campuses around the State. All Dietetics and Nutrition (DN) courses are offered online; most are exclusively online.
