In 2007, UTPB Visual Arts was the sixth department in the state of Texas to be awarded accreditation with NASAD (National Association of Schools of Art and Design). We have an excellent though small art department offering a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Within these degrees we have a variety of programs offering courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, art history, ceramics, printmaking, photography, digital arts and new media. We are very proud of our students, many of whom have been accepted into national and regional competitions before they graduate. Once they have completed their degree at UTPB many have become teachers in public education while others have found employment with advertising agencies or gone on to graduate school. If you are looking for a small school where you are not just a number, where professors teach your classes and you have plenty of studio time we may be the department for you.
