Welcome to the UTEP Political Science Graduate Program! Our faculty is committed to mentoring graduate students, socializing them into the profession, and incorporating them into our teaching, research, and service missions. Graduates of our M.A. program have gone on to pursue doctorates at top universities, teach in community colleges, and work in a wide array of government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other rewarding jobs in the public and private sectors. Teaching and research assistantships are available and based on merit. Many of our graduate students have also been awarded various scholarships and prestigeous internships at the federal, state, and local governments and non-governmental organizations. The fields of study in our graduate program are American Institutions and Processes, Border Politics, Comparative Politics, and International Relations. Our location in a vibrant binational metropolitan area of over two million people makes UTEP an ideal laboratory for the study of many local, national, and international political topics.
