Auto Collision Technology Auto Collision Technician from Texas State Technical College - Harlingen is a Campus Certificate Automotive degree that prepares you for a Engineering career. As the number of motor vehicles in operation increase with the population, so will the number of cars damaged in accidents. This in combination with new, lighter weight automotive designs which are prone to greater collision damage than older, heavier designs should continue to create a need for trained auto body repair personnel. These repair personnel must have a broad knowledge of auto construction and repair techniques using a wide variety of tools and machines, including major collision repair using electronic measuring systems and state of the art frame repair equipment. The Certificate II Auto Body Repair Program will offer the student a fourth semester with more exposure to major collision repair and refinishing. Upon completion of the Auto Collision Program students will: ? Perform auto body collision repairs to NATEF & I-CAR industry standards. ? Apply a variety of paint & refinish materials to NATEF and I-CAR industry standards. ? Repair plastic & fiberglass on auto bodies to NATEF & I-CAR industry standards. ?
