The presence of a strong graduate-level program is a distinct advantage to the undergraduate writers. Throughout the year, graduate students sponsor their own student readers' series, and run the Writing by Degrees Creative Writing Conference, which attracts participants from across the nation. Harpur Palate (HP), a grad and undergrad student-edited literary journal,is produced on campus and attracts submissions from both well-established and emerging voices.
