Musical Theatre & Dance This Musical Theatre course within this track places special emphasis on an integrated, organic approach to musical theatre analysis, interpretation, and performance. The Dance course within this track provides interested students with a wide range of skills a rigorous balance of studio courses and dance history and criticism. Performance The study and practice of performance is integral to the Theatre Department's educational mission. In addition to classroom study, students are provided with an abundant range of performance opportunities. Playwriting The Theatre Department strongly encourages student writing and has established a number of initiatives to support student' development as writers. Coursework is supplemented by opportunities for public readings, workshops, and full productions. Technical Theatre & Design All Theatre majors are required to participate in technical theatre assignments during their tenure at Suffolk, and are eligible to design lighting, sound, costumes, and/or scenery in either the C. Walsh or Studio Theatre. Build-A-Track Students may develop a customized theatre track in consultation with the Department Chair by selecting three courses based on their individual interests and ambitions.
