The Energy Technical Specialist Associate in Applied Science degree will convey the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in both the traditional and renewable energy fields. Students enrolled in the Energy Technical Specialist program will study a 35 credit core curriculum providing a strong base in electrical, electronic and mechanical systems . Students will select an area of specialization to complete their program of study from the following: Wind Energy , Ethanol, Biodiesel, Fossil Fuels, or Power Generation. The Energy Technical Specialist degree is offered through nine colleges in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and is funded in part by a High Growth Job Training Initiative grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Through this partnership, students will have opportunities to take some courses in online and blended formats from partner institutions.
