There are two emphases available to students: Studies in Literature Studies in Language and Rhetoric Within these two areas of study, we offer two options for completing the degree: Option A requires 24 credit hours in the discipline, plus six hours of thesis. The thesis may reflect traditional scholarship in literature, language and rhetoric, or linguistics; or in conjunction with appropriate coursework, it may include a creative component. Option C requires 36 credit hours plus a comprehensive examination.
