Film Studies - Smith College

Film Studies from Smith College is a Campus Bachelor Film degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. The Film Studies Program offers the opportunity for in depth study of the history, theory, and criticism of film and other forms of the moving image. The Program's primary goal is to expose students to a wide range of cinematic works, styles and movements in order to cultivate critical understanding of the medium's significance as an art form, as a means of cultural and political expression, and as a reflection of social ideologies and mentalities. REQUIREMENTS: Six semester courses to be taken at Smith or, by permission of the director, elsewhere among the Five College institutions.
