Youth Ministries from Simpson University is a Campus Bachelor Religious Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Why do the majority of youth leaders burn out? Why do so many graduating high school students emerge from their time in the youth ministry without a cohesive Christian worldview? Why do so many students who appear to have a solid faith in high school leave their faith soon upon entering the university or marketplace? These questions have many answers. However, part of the solution is to prepare youth leaders adequately for the complicated world of adolescent ministry. Youth Ministry is a multi-disciplinary profession requiring more depth of spiritual formation, character, training and knowledge than ever before. The major, as with all of our ministry majors, will give you a foundational understanding in the areas of small group ministries, preaching, leadership, evangelism and the necessary counseling skills.. You will engage youth culture with excellent creative thinking tools in order to help students in your ministry form a biblical worldview. Your education will be completed by successful participation in an internship with a youth minister. At Simpson University you will be challenged to dig a deep well that will enable you to give your world a whole person. Our desire is that you become biblically responsible, theologically alert and culturally savvy. You will be challenged to understand and practice leadership development (student/adult), communication skills, administrative skills, personal development, and a variety of youth ministry specifics.
