Social Work from Simmons College is a Campus Master Sociology degree that prepares you for a Human Services career. Simmons's nationally accredited Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) program provides a rigorous clinical social work education for men and women. The program is highly regarded for its fieldwork component, with internships three days per week for both years of the program. We offer a progressive, hands-on curriculum that infuses education and practice with social justice values and multicultural perspectives. We have tracks for social workers with a B.S.W., for currently practicing social workers, and for individuals who have education and professional experience in a different field altogether. All M.S.W. tracks share a curriculum that covers topics on clinical practice, racism, human behavior and the social environment, social policy, and research. All students participate in extensive clinical field internships, with a wide range of community-based practice opportunities addressing issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, child and family services, and mental health. In keeping with the best social work professional and educational practice, the Simmons M.S.W. program is a coordinated, integrated learning experience. Faculty advisers personally supervise each student's course load and work with students to help them select field education placements that meet their goals.
