Health and Fitness Leadership from Sheridan College is a Campus Associate Education Management degree that prepares you for a Education career. The Health and Fitness Leadership program blends a liberal arts education with a specialized study of exercise science and human movement. Students explore opportunities to develop knowledge and skills, learn from experienced health and fitness professionals, and challenge their individual potential as they prepare for a career in the exercise science arena. The curriculum offers a balance between scientific theory and practical application. The program includes the study of human anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, training and conditioning, health promotion, and exercise physiology. Graduates of the program are also eligible to sit for a national exam offered by the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Council on Strength and Fitness , American Council on Exercise, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Sheridan College?s Fitness Center provides a great opportunity for hands-on laboratory experiences and internship work. Students will also have the opportunity to develop their strength and conditioning skills by using the variety of equipment available.
