Perform a Primary Survey of a patient. Perform a Secondary Survey, including vital signs. Identify the Primary Survey, Secondary Survey, and vital sign findings that indicate emergency in any of the following general categories: medical , environmental, obstetrical, traumatic, surgical. Identify and care for a patient with cardiopulmonary arrest. Use mechanical aids to aid breathing and circulation. Identify and treat a patient in shock, including use of the MAST (medical anti shock trouser) suit. Identify and treat soft tissue injuries including bleeding, wounds, injuries to the eyes, ears, nose, face, and genitalia. Stabilize and splint muscular skeletal injuries. Identify and treat injuries to the head and neck. Identify and treat injuries to the abdomen and chest. Identify and treat a patient with a toxicological emergency. Identify and treat behavioral emergencies. Identify and treat environmental emergencies including exposure to extremes in environment: heat, cold, drowning, and burns. Identify and treat diabetic emergencies. Identify and treat obstetrical emergencies. Perform techniques used in lifting, moving, positioning, or extricating patients to minimize discomfort and prevent additional injury. Perform one- or two-person cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adult, pediatric, and neonate victims according to the standards of the American Heart Association.
