Sound Recording Technology from Schoolcraft College is a Campus Associate Communication Technologies degree that prepares you for a Communications career. The Sound Recording Technology Associate Degree Program is designed to prepare the student for transfer to institutions offering a bachelor?s degree in Recording Engineering or for apprenticeships at recording studios and various media venues. The program will teach the student the fundamentals and techniques relative to live concert and studio recording. Understanding the musical perspective is an important focus of the program. The required music courses will assist the recording engineer in better understanding what the performing musician is experiencing and will in turn improve the recording outcome. Technological changes directly related to the recording industry are frequently introduced. The program is committed to staying current and will help the student understand new directions in technology. All courses are not offered each semester. Students should work with the Counseling Center to set up a schedule that will work for them.
