Nursing Licensed Practical from Schoolcraft College is a Campus Certificate Nursing Education degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. Nursing courses are open only to students who are officially admitted to the Nursing Career Ladder Curriculum. The Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing and provides basic nursing theory and clinical practice in caring for adults, children and families to prepare graduates for entry-level positions in hospitals, long-term care facilities, medical offices, home health and other community settings. Students who satisfactorily complete the Practical Nursing program qualify for a Certificate of Program Completion and are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) as a step in obtaining licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Schoolcraft College Nursing Career Ladder Curriculum has pre-admission requirements that are reviewed annually. It is essential to contact the Admissions and Enrollment Center for a current copy of prerequisites to enter the program. Courses must be taken in sequence. A minimum grade of 2.0 in each nursing course is required for progression to the next course. Academic courses other than nursing must be finished by the completion of the nursing courses.
