Art History from Savannah College of Art and Design is a Campus Master Art History degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. Art history offers classes that are designed to stimulate an understanding of art and foster a dialogue that reaches across all SCAD programs of study. Students of art history also benefit from other foundational classes in drawing, design and color theory. A faculty of current researchers SCAD's devoted faculty of art historians present current research at leading professional conferences, including the College Art Association, Renaissance Society of America, Archaeological Institute of America and the Society of Architectural Historians. Additionally, SCAD is affiliated with cultural institutions including the American Academy in Rome, the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the American Association of Museums. M.A. art history program The M.A. program builds on core principles of research and analysis and advances the critical study for advanced students. Using the resources available in the libraries, galleries, the SCAD Museum of Art and global partnerships, graduate students conduct a significant independent research project.
