Chemistry from San Bernardino Valley College is a Campus Associate Chemistry degree that prepares you for a Science career. The Chemistry program is designed to meet the diverse needs of students served by the community college: (a) students majoring in chemistry or related sciences, (b) students majoring in one of the health sciences, and (c) students fulfilling the general education science requirement. Courses in the Chemistry Department are taught with a strong emphasis on the laboratory. In the advanced classes, students receive hands-on experience with a wide variety of instruments. CHEMISTRY ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE To graduate with a specialization in Chemistry, students must complete the following required courses plus the general breadth requirements for the Associate's Degree . The A.S. in Chemistry is designed to prepare students who wish to pursue a Bachelor's Degree from a four-year institution. At the four-year institution, students may choose to specialize in one particular aspect of chemistry, such as Environmental Chemistry , Organic Chemistry, Atmospheric Chemistry , or Physical Chemistry.
