The Program FNP students at Rush are educated in a personalized, individualized fashion to provide comprehensive health care to persons across the lifespan at one of the most established FNP programs in the country. Coursework is available both on-line and in-person format. In addition to providing individualized and family care, students will learn to translate their advanced practice skills to the needs of the community and will have the opportunity to work with community agencies in the areas of needs assessment, program planning and program development. The FNP program distinguishes itself through its strong clinical preparation of the student. All FNP faculty maintain an active clinical practice so realistic, applicable situations provide advantageous learning situations. Emphasis is placed on health assessment, health maintenance/promotion and prevention. Identification of health problems and the management of acute and chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease in children and adults are extensively discussed.
