In the lab, students learn to test, systematically trouble shoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical HVACR systems and components. Residential and light commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning, along with food preservation refrigeration, are the main focuses of the program. While in the HVACR program, students are members of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), which sets the standards for the industry and provides additional training. Upon successful completion of two years of HVACR, students will be eligible to take the ESCO Institute EPA Refrigerant Certification exam.
