The MPA Program seeks: To foster excellence in public service and good government. To prepare students for leadership and service in federal, state or local government as well as non-profit management. To positively influence public policy and management by promoting such values as constitutionalism, citizen participation, equity, diversity, and the ethical performance of public service. To foster an understanding about the integration of public administration institutions, processes, and procedures. These include legal, political, economic, and social institutions and a variety of administrative processes. To improve communications skills. To develop decision making skills along with problem-identification and problem-solving abilities. The 36-credit program is offered in the evening to part-time students. There are two tracks ? an In-Service track for working professionals in the field, and a Pre-Service track for students who have not yet had work experience.
