Did you know that a random sequence of 0\\\'s and 1\\\'s contains all possible knowledge? Yup, we\\\'ll prove it in class. Follow that sequence far enough and you\\\'ll find your high school essay on Romeo and Juliet complete with typos. There will also be a video of your first prom dance even if there was no camera present(!), immediately followed by a particularly yummy recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Cool, huh. Philosophically scary, but cool. And did you know that the human mind can solve only a certain set of problems using rational thought? Proves that we have to be irrational to get some things done. (Whoa.) In an ironic twist of logic, we\\\'ll also show that some problems have a solution but that it\\\'s impossible to show that the solution is correct. Super-computing, neural-net brains, artificial life, cryptography, information theory, and mathematical proofs describing the limits of knowledge... That just barely scratches the surface. Heck, cosmological theories describing the nature of the universe are really just theories on computation and information processing. In other words, we\\\'re talking about the college major that really does address theories on life, the universe, and everything. It doesn\\\'t get any better than that. Amazing Technology Is there any other major where you\\\'ll get to design and build robots? I mean, really, how awesome is that? You\\\'ll learn about RISC chip architecture and other hardware. You\\\'ll learn to properly send error-free data on cell phones, the internet, wireless devices, and any bizarre telecom device that you invent. You\\\'ll learn to program and write applications, video games, and anything else you can dream up. Along the way, you\\\'ll find out how databases work, how to squash nasty viruses, how to network computers, and write your own operating systems so you can stick it to that stupid, no-good, system that came pre-loaded on your computer .
