Interdisciplinary Studies from Regent University is a Campus Bachelor Interdisciplinary Studies degree that prepares you for a Science career. Regent\\\'s Interdisciplinary Studies Program is ideal path for those wishing to earn a degree in Elementary Education. In this state licensure program, students graduate with the skills and certification to teach Pre-K through 6th grade in the State of Virginia. In the Elementary Education major, Regent students learn about curriculum design, child and adolescent growth and development, using technology in education, and classroom management techniques. What makes Regent\\\'s program so unique is its blend of Christian principles and coursework into the elementary education curriculum. Students learn about character development and their own spiritual formation and Christian worldview throughout their program. The Elementary Education major is more than just learning theory though?it\\\'s a lot of hands on application. Students are expected to have a student teaching experience in their senior year, take part in various teacher observation assignments, and at various points in their program, are required to pass four key pre-licensure tests, the Praxis I, the Praxis II, VRA- Virginia Reading Assessment and the VCLA- Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment. SAT and ACT scores meeting criteria have been approved for substitution for PRAXIS I. Students in the Elementary Education program also have the opportunity to take classes online or on campus. However, while general education classes can be taken online, all upper-level, education-specific courses are offered on-campus only. Graduates in the Elementary Education program are in high demand in the region and the state.
