The Biological Sciences degree has two choices of concentration, medical and environmental, with a slate of courses matched to the needs of each. Technological proficiency is reinforced by many lab exercises in the program, as most of the courses involve laboratory activities which provide a student the opportunity to use a variety of techniques and instruments. Many of the laboratory exercises for the environmental and field courses involve trips to a variety of natural areas around Quincy. Students have the opportunity to take a cadaver anatomy course. When demand is sufficient, a course that includes a trip to the Gal?pagos Islands is offered. Biology majors have been active in Missouri Stream Team and Monarch Watch for several years.
