The Academy of Beauty by Patsy and Rob is now proud to offer an Esthetics program at our St. Charles, MO campus for those individuals interested in receiving the training they need for a career in the skin care services industry. What an Esthetician does. An esthetician is a licensed skin care specialist who performs a wide range of techniques from makeup, facials, hair removal, relaxing body treatments and wraps, to more advanced applications, such as aromatherapy, specialty facials, microdermabrasion, and much more. These services revitalize clients and deliver an excellent beauty experience. Where do Esthetiticians work? Whether you are just beginning your career as an esthetician , or are ready to graduate, there are numerous opportunities within the beauty industry to consider such as: Skin Care Specialist, Esthetics Spa Manager or Director, Skin Care Educator, Distributor?s Representative, Product Analyst, and many more. ESTHETICS: Full time future graduates are trained over a period of 27 weeks . Part-time future grad?s period of training will be calculated at the time of enrollment. (A Part Time schedule is not in effect at this time) The Basic Esthetics course covers all phases of esthetics to prepare the future grad for a career as an esthetician or related field. The approach to training used by the Academy is based on sound educational methods and teaching theoretical knowledge of Esthetics and a truly professional personality. The first 10 weeks (a minimum of 375 hours) are spent in the Phase 1 classroom where training includes lectures, demonstrations and practice in dexterity skills. After this time the student is introduced to the student salon/spa floor where he/she may exercise the knowledge gained during the previous weeks training. It is only through applied knowledge that the necessary experiences and comprehension of esthetics can develop. Training will also be given on student salon clients. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course the future grad will have been presented with the material enabling him/her to be eligible to take the Missouri Board of Cosmetology and Barbers Examiners exam. Upon passing the exam the State of Missouri will issue a Class E, Esthetics License enabling the applicant to perform any standard cosmetology service required in a beauty salon in the State of Missouri.
