At the Academy of Beauty, nail technician training includes both theory and practical skills. This includes the 400 Hour Basic Manicuring requirement for the state of Missouri plus advanced nail techniques, nail art & paraffin treatments. The course is taught using the Salon Fundamentals, Nails-A Resource for Your Nail Career textbook provided by Pivot Point International, Inc. Course Goals At the completion of this course the student will have been presented the materials required to be eligible to sit for the state board written and practical exam for manicuring and become a licensed nail technician in the state of Missouri. Upon passing the exam the state will issue a class MO manicuring only license enabling the applicant to practice manicuring, pedicuring and sculptured nail techniques.
