Purpose The purpose of the Associate of Science in Nursing program of Our Lady of the Lake College is to prepare associate degree nurses who have the necessary skills and competencies to meet the health care needs of God???s people with compassion, understanding, respect, and dignity. The ASN program provides an avenue for socialization into the profession of nursing, fosters a commitment for learning, and promotes continued intellectual growth. The graduate of this nursing program receives an Associate of Science in Nursing degree and is eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
