Areas of Concentration Mechanical Engineering Concentration In the mechanical engineering concentration students will study mechanic materials, the application of thermodynamics to components and systems, the design of machines based on kinematic and kinetic requirements and the principles of machine component design and the analysis of the behavior of stationary and flowing fluids. Additionally, students have the opportunity to experience problem-solving in the three modes of heat transfer. Outcomes Engineering graduates are in high demand and typically receive high starting salaries.
