The ODU graduate sport management program has received program approval/accreditation through the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). The ODU program is one of a small group of programs nationally that have received program approval. The curriculum is designed to academically prepare students for positions in the ever expanding and changing sports industry. Graduate students enrolled in the program pursue a number of sport career paths including college athletic administration , professional sport marketing and promotions, sport facility management , sport event management, recreational sports management and supervision, health club and fitness management, amateur sport organization administration, etc. Students are required to take courses in a variety of sport and business areas including sports marketing, sports law, sports facility management , sports fiscal management, and administrative theory. The program requires the completion of 36 graduate credit hours.
