In order to be admitted to Master\\\'s programs, a student must have graduated from an ABET-accredited (or equivalent) program in mechanical or aerospace engineering or engineering mechanics with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 out of 4.00 in their major. Doctoral program applicants are required to have a Master\\\'s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or engineering mechanics and an overall GPA of 3.50 out of 4.00 for regular admission. All applicants for Masters and Doctoral degrees are required to submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results. International students must also submit TOEFL scores with a composite minimum score of 550. An application fee of $50 (non-waivable) is also required of all applicants. Applicants from physics, mathematics, and other engineering disciplines may be admitted provisionally provided they present exceptional academic credentials. However, those admitted students will be required to take remedial undergraduate and/or graduate courses in mechanical engineering in order to satisfy prerequisites for their graduate program of study.
