Asian Studies from Ohio University - Main Campus is a Campus Certificate Area Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The Center for International Studies offers certificates in African, Asian , East Asian, European, Latin American, Southeast Asian and War and Peace Studies for students who wish to add an international dimension to their major, or who are interested in an international career or graduate work in area studies . The certificate is noted on your transcript upon graduation. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required in certificate courses. Complete 20 hours from at least 3 departments in the Asian Area Studies courses, including no more than 4 hours in language coursework. Complete two years or equivalent in Asian language(s) coursework. Students may petition the Certificate Director to have a language they take elsewhere fulfill the requirement.
