Fisher College of Business encourages and supports the aspirations of all students seeking higher education for the professional fields of business administration and accounting. Professional managers face a variety of challenges: consumer demand for value, the need for more efficient planning and greater productivity, increasing international competition, and rapidly changing technology. These challenges will require that managers have more knowledge, training, and skills than ever before. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree program is designed to prepare students to meet the challenges of today?s complex business environment. Within the general business program, students choose a specialization from among 12 majors available: accounting, economics, finance, human resources, information systems, international business, marketing, operations management, real estate and urban analysis, risk management and insurance, logistics management, and a special major option. Program Educational Objectives At graduation, Fisher College of Business graduates: will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and critically assess problems facing contemporary businesses. will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of at least one functional area of business. will possess a global perspective and can critically evaluate the international context a contemporary business operates in. can identify and assess ethical issues surrounding business decisions. are able to work effectively in a team-based environment. can demonstrate professional deportment and effective oral and written communication skills. Co-Curricular Opportunities There are many opportunities for students in the Fisher College of Business to enrich and broaden their academic experience. Though internships and co-ops are not required for business students, 85% of students registered with Career Management have some kind of internship experience before they graduate. Many students receive an offer of full-time employment from their internship employer. Students are encouraged to explore other opportunities such as studying abroad. In coordination with the Fisher College of Business , the Office of International Affairs offers several undergraduate exchanges for students wishing to study abroad in countries throughout the world.
