DESCRIPTION The Associate of Applied Science in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technology prepares students for employment in a variety of professions as GIS technicians. GIS technicians learn to create, analyze, and maintain digital mapping layers that can allow organizations to make complex and informed decisions based on natural resource features, location of manmade structures, population density, and other relevant geographic data.
