It offers a combination of self-guided, computer-aided instruction, guided instruction and hands-on laboratory learning. Students will perform numerous repairs on a combination of training modules, practice and live vehicles. All repairs and tasks will follow ASE guidelines to prepare students to become ASE certified in eight areas of repair. These areas are: electronics and electrical systems; engine performance; suspension and steering; brakes; heating and air-conditioning; engine repair; manual transmissions and axles; and automatic transmissions. Students will then be encouraged to participate in the ASE testing process to obtain certifications in their area of interest. Upon completion of the program, the student will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology . This degree, coupled with the ASE certifications, will enhance career opportunities for a student as an Automotive Service technician in the automotive industry.
