To accomplish this commitment, we offer an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN). At the completion of the ASN program, the graduate is eligible to take the NCLEX-RN (National Computerized Licensure Examination) which leads to a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the United States. Program Learning Outcomes Upon completion of the program, students will be able to: Provide nursing care based on standards of professional practice within legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks; Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other members of the healthcare team; Assess clients and families comprehensively, including physical, developmental, emotional, psychological, sociological, cultural, and spiritual knowledge; Provide nursing care for the medical-surgical client in the hospital, community or home, integrating biological, psychological, sociological, cultural, and spiritual knowledge; Demonstrate caring interventions that assist the client in meeting his/her needs; Educate clients, significant support persons, and other members of the healthcare team to promote and maintain health and reduce risks to health; Collaborate with clients, significant support persons, other members of the healthcare team, and community agencies to assist in meeting clients? needs; Manage care for a group of clients; Continuously assess and evaluate his or her own individual needs for advancement and/or continuing education as a part of personal and professional development as an accountable and responsible member of the nursing profession; Utilize critical and creative thinking in all settings to facilitate problem solving and decision-making by both themselves and clients; and Communicate effectively through the use of oral, written, and computer skills.
