Exposes, processes, and mounts dental radiographs. Schedules appointments, assists in setting up and administering a patient recall system. Places temporary fillings, periodontal dressings, removes periodontal dressings, and sutures. Takes impressions, pours models, and polishes amalgam restorations. Cleans work area, maintains dental equipment, personal hygiene, and follows aseptic technique. Displays attitude conducive to good patient rapport, stimulates patient motivation, assists in the control and prevention of dental disease, and helps patients to attain optimum oral health. Instructs patients in preventive dental care and provides nutritional guidance. Participates in community activities designed to prevent dental disease and promote optimum oral health in the public.
