It is somewhat similar to the construction management program, but has more emphasis on engineering and technical courses. The Mission The mission of the construction management and engineering (CME) department at North Dakota State University is to provide quality programs for preparing nationally competitive undergraduate and graduate students for a successful career in construction. The programs are designed to provide educational, research and outreach opportunities that serve both the needs of our students and those of the construction industry. Educational Objectives The construction engineering program objectives describe the career and professional accomplishments that we expect our graduates to achieve early in their careers. Career Opportunities Construction engineering graduates are in high demand by contractors in all types of construction , by design-construction firms and by large owners who have continuing construction programs. Positions available include superintendent, project manager, sales person, field engineer, cost engineer, programmer, design engineer, safety engineer and company executive. Graduates will be well qualified in the areas of construction programming, cost control and construction quality control.
