Criminal Justice from Norfolk State University is a Campus Master Criminal Justice degree that prepares you for a Legal career. The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MACJ) Program addresses the diverse needs of professionals who provide leadership in the justice system. Two arrears of concentration permit students to develop specialized skills and expertise. The aim of the MACJ is to provide a coordinated and systematic approach attracting top quality student into the program. The goal and objectives will focus on skills development and knowledge that reflects the changes in criminal justice education towards professional development. The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice program received approval of the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia and admitted its first students in Fall 2003. We are please to announce the graduation of our first students in May 2005. The graduate program offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Criminal Justice , with concentrations in both Criminal Justice Management and Planning and Juvenile Justice . The program will consist of 36 semester hours, with 18 semester hours of core requirements and 18 semester hours in the areas of concentration. Students elect a thesis or non-thesis option to complete degree requirements. We off a rigorous, yet supportive learning experience to prepare students for leadership in criminal justice. Courses are offered at the state-of-the-art technological facility at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center.
