In addition, there are many extracurricular opportunites: the Broadcasters Club (where students meet with media professionals, raise money, and travel to industry conferences) internships on and off-campus, and even paid jobs at KRUX radio, Aggie Vision sports, and KRWG-TV and radio. The many broadcast journalism courses help students gain the necessary skills to actually produce real newscasts. A live television news program on the university???s public television station is an integral part of our broadcast journalism experience. News22 is a live, local, thirty-minute television broadcast that airs in all of west Texas and southern New Mexico. When students graduate from the News22 newsroom and studio they have all the tools needed to succeed and thrive in a highly competitive field. News22 is entirely produced and staffed by students who take professional responsibilities and thus learn every aspect of the business.
