During operative procedures, the Surgical Technologist functions as an integral part of the surgical team and works in cooperation with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and registered nurse performing duties that are vital for the safety and care of surgical patients. Responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist include preparation of sterile operative equipment and supplies; instrumentation during operative procedures and other intra-operative patient care activities.
