The Biology major provides a broad foundation in the life sciences through coursework in evolution, diversity, ecology, microbiology, and genetics. The Biology major is intended for students considering graduate research programs and/or careers in industry, government, biomedical research, and field work. The Health Science undergraduate degree program is a pre-professional program that combines the foundation of the Biology major with preparation for a graduate program and/or career in a health-related field. Available tracks of study within the Health Science major include Pre-Med, Pre-Dental, Pre-Vet, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Physician?s Assistant, and Pre-Nursing. Additional options include a Secondary Education Biology major (offered in collaboration with NEC?s education department) and individually-designed majors to match students? interests.
