Our curriculum is designed to reflect current trends in patient-centered, evidence-based practice. Faculty serve as role models in demonstrating responsibility and accountability as teachers, clinicians, scholars, consultants, and administrators who are committed to serving community health needs. Unique to Nazareth College is our on-site clinic and many community outreach programs?valued physical therapy services for the uninsured and underserved. In the on-campus setting, students interact with patients and develop health and wellness programs in their first year of study. Under the supervision of faculty, they immediately apply techniques learned in the classroom, including client evaluation, intervention, and research. Most recently a Home Transitions Clinic has been added in which students teach their clients how to function in a home environment. Program Highlights The B.S/D.P.T degree in Health Science is a six-year program comprised of three pre-professional years plus three professional years. The advantage of this program is that, as long as students maintain the required grade point average, they do not have to reapply for a graduate program, and those with an academic scholarship can carry it the entire six years.
