In the Nazareth OT program, students will be actively engaged in learning how to develop or improve a person?s sensory, physical, cognitive/perceptual, and/or psychosocial abilities. They will also learn to modify the environment to help the person to be as self-sufficient and productive as possible. The program will prepare students for the clinical reasoning needed for entry-level general practice, as well as develop initial skills in areas of specialization such as early intervention, school based practice, neurological rehabilitation, environmental analysis and modification, ergonomics, and treatment of upper extremity and orthopedic impairments. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in collaborative research with faculty and OT clinicians to promote and enhance knowledge. Program Highlights Students will be professionally trained in an interdisciplinary environment. They will work with fellow students and professionals in: speech-language pathology, physical therapy , art therapy, music therapy , social work, and nursing. The curriculum will also offer students a wide range of interprofessional academic and clinical experiences, including an on-campus OT clinic, various clinical outreach activities, participation in therapy programs in the community, and fieldwork opportunities designed to engage them in learning outside of the classroom.
