At the completion of this rigorous program, you will find that you are well prepared to become a literacy specialist, literacy coach, or simply a better-equipped teacher of literacy in K?12 classrooms. Students completing this degree at Nazareth College gain an additional certification as literacy specialists. Program Highlights Two age ranges - birth to grade 6 and grade 5-12. You may choose to take extra credits to earn a second certification in both areas. Direct engagement ? You will have the opportunity to be directly engaged with children through classes taught in an area school setting. Hands-on experience ? Benefit from hands-on literacy coaching experiences through the on-campus Reading Clinic, which serves members of the community who need reading and writing support.
