The mission of the Curriculum and Instruction Program is to improve the ability of practitioners to support all learners through development of expertise in pertinent content areas and appropriate instructional pedagogy. The NLU master\\\'s and certificate of advanced study in Curriculum and Instruction are designed for certified teachers and qualified non-certified preK-12 educational professionals who want to expand their skills and understandings in one of the following concentrations: ESL/Bilingual Education Personalized Option Health Education School Nurse Science Education Social Studies Education Teaching for Conceptual Integration Please note that each concentration has the same core requirements. For a complete list of courses, please view the C&I Curriculum as well as the curriculum for your chosen concentration. How You Will Learn: The program core courses are tiered for prerequisites and are offered in a three term sequence. Other courses, depending on the concentration, are offered within cohorts and/or through traditional on-campus registration. The cohort format is designed for a group of 12-20 students who enroll in a pre-determined set of courses. The traditional on-campus option allows students to pace their own course studies. In both instances, the careful sequencing of courses provides opportunity for support and development of collaborative relationships of fellow students throughout the program.
