General Information The Automotive Technology program prepares students to work in area automotive dealerships or repair shops. There are two different groups of directed electives for the program, depending on the sponsoring dealership or repair shop: Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) in cooperation with General Motors; Automotive Training Educational Program (ATEP) in cooperation with other local dealerships. This program alternates periods of formal training with periods of on-the-job experience at participating dealerships. The periods in the dealership are designed to provide practical experience as reinforcement of concepts taught during the school terms. Students must maintain sponsorship with participating dealerships during the entire training period. Nashville State assists students in obtaining dealer sponsorship.
