Many placement sites are available in New York state, but students who wish to travel can find opportunities in other parts of the country. Some successful internships have included environmental education with the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation, landscape design and development with Hamilton College, GIS (geographic information system) mapping with the Onondaga County Parks Department, and wildlife management studies for the Great Swamp Conservancy.
