Some students have gained valuable professional experience during the summer at such places as the Smithsonian Institution studying fossil invertebrates. Other students have done internships in plant ecology at Great Smoky Mountains National Park, studied sea turtles in Florida, assisted on a research project in breast cancer at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, and worked in molecular biology laboratories at Princeton University and the Mayo Clinic.
