Photography & Digital Arts is a unique major designed to foster artists who work across multiple disciplines including traditional darkroom photography, digital photography, HD digital video, web/interactive media and 2D/3D animation. Opportunities to learn using both sequential and non-linear narrative strategies allow students to produce work that is relevant to current visual culture, combining the understanding of historic practices, new digital technologies, and the legacy of the photographic image. Intensive studio work allows students to develop a solid understanding of concepts, tools and techniques linked to photographic, digital and emerging media. Seminars covering the history, theory, and criticism of photography and digital arts informs students? vision and studio practices. The investigation and understanding of artistic practice and aesthetics encourages students to combine, challenge, and blur the boundaries of photographic and digital technologies.
